Tradition and a New Beginning
The “Antennentechnik Bad Blankenburg” brand has been a fixture in the radio industry for decades—and has deliberately remained so. In 2023, Michael Märte bought the company back from a Chinese conglomerate and relaunched production in Rudolstadt. A business transition completed in five months, with everything that entails: finding a new location, transferring staff, and regaining trust. In the podcast, he explains what led him to this decision—and why there was no other option for him.
Custom solutions instead of off-the-shelf products
ATTB does not develop off-the-shelf antennas. 80% of our products are designed specifically to meet customer requirements—custom-made, certified to IATF 16949 and KBA standards, and manufactured in Thuringia. In-house research and development, with working samples available in two weeks.
The areas of innovation extend far beyond traditional automotive applications: Car-to-X communication between vehicles and smart city infrastructure; antenna systems for two-wheeled vehicles—technically and visually sophisticated, a field that has hardly been explored to date; 5G modem prototypes for vehicle fleets; and connector technologies developed ahead of the market.
